“If I have done anything, even a little, to help small children enjoy honest, simple pleasures, I have done a bit of good.” ―  Beatrix Potter

Sometimes you see nature journals that are just beautiful books of art. I love to look at those, too. These are not them. These are our real life journals- the beautiful, the messy, the upside down, and the totally distracted. Aiming for perfection can slow you down. Don't let that happen to you! Just do it. It doesn't matter what it looks like. You'll naturally get better over time. The point is to get out there, observe, and do things with your kids. This is not all I do regarding nature with my girls. Sometimes we make a nature table with our collections, sometimes we photograph things, sometimes we use my phone to ID things, and sometimes we just walk or sit in nature and talk about what we see. Sure, we probably could've done a lot more in our journals. We SHOULD do more journaling. Everything I'm saying, I'm talking to myself, too. Okay self, get out there and do some more nature journaling with the kids.
